With many years of experience singing professionally, both in the UK and overseas, I am passionate about teaching people to sing in a healthy, communicative way, always taking into account the needs of the individual student. I studied as a Postgraduate in the School of Vocal Studies and Opera at the Royal Northern College of Music and I gained a BA Honours degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Oxford. My focus is on developing good musicianship in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. I am also happy to work towards graded music exams.

I am a member of the Association of Teachers of Singing and the Incorporated Society of Musicians and I am continually looking to enhance my skills, undertaking regular courses in professional development. I hold a Working with Young Voices ITOL Certificate and I am also currently studying for a Masters in Vocal Pedagogy with the Voice Study Centre. I am a keen practitioner of the Alexander Technique and an awareness of body use features greatly in my teaching. I have an Enhanced DBS Certificate and I am committed to following best practice with regards to safeguarding and child protection.
